I received an offer to trade links, should I?
Let me start by saying reciprocal linking has its place. However, an unsolicited request to "trade links" is often best ignored. Quite often these requests are going to be automated emails and will have no true value for you and may even be a scam.
Good reciprocal links should be looked at to help your site's value as well as your user's experience.
Companies need to ask themselves, "Do we want to be associated with the site that sent the request?" and "Will this link benefit my customers?". More often than not that answer is going to be "no".
Some good reciprocal links may include business associates, referring businesses, or manufactures or sellers of your products.
As a Totem customer we will be happy to help you evaluate these requests and help you understand the differences between good valuable links and bad links.
